Samsung introduced significant upgrades to several Good Lock modules with the arrival of One UI 7 earlier this year. A standout feature, the revamped Home Up module, introduced a range of new customization options. Users can now adjust parameters such as damping, stiffness, and friction for home screen animations and wallpaper transitions. With the introduction of One UI 8, Samsung takes Home Up to the next level by allowing users to customize app startup animations.
Although Home Up benefited from extensive animation customization in One UI 7, it previously lacked an option for altering app launch animations. This constraint is addressed in the new One UI 8 release. Additionally, the latest version enhances integration with the One UI Launcher, allowing users to access relevant customization settings through a long-press on app icons or the home screen. Users of the DIY Home Screen feature will appreciate the introduction of Alignment Guide Lines.
This new tool will facilitate better alignment of icons, widgets, and stickers, enhancing visual symmetry. The update also enables editing of grouped items and introduces a lock feature to prevent accidental changes to the customized home screen. Furthermore, for those who prefer a minimalist look, it is now possible to hide page indicators. A new horizontal scroll mode for the app drawer in Alphabetical order is another exciting addition.
In terms of features, Home Up v17.0.00.28 offers various functionalities including app launch animation settings, easy item grouping and editing, and the convenience of a floating toolbar for efficient home screen management. For Galaxy users, this Home Up update to One UI 8 is available for download through the Galaxy Store. It is important to note that only devices compatible with One UI 8 can utilize these new features, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and S25 series, while other models will need to wait for their updates.
