Although it has been available for over 2.5 years, Google’s Nest Wifi Pro continues to be a reliable Wi-Fi router known for providing consistent speeds and low latency across devices. Google regularly updates the router, addressing security vulnerabilities and introducing new features. The latest update, released in July, enhances Thread coverage and overall stability.
Earlier this year, in April, Google attempted to roll out a software update (version 3.75.467368) for the Nest Wifi Pro but had to retract it shortly afterward due to unforeseen bugs. After nearly two months of anticipation, the company is now rolling out a corrected version, numbered 3.76.479819. According to reports, the release notes for this update mirror the ones from the April version, underscoring the fixes and improvements being introduced.
The release notes specify several important updates, including enhanced whole-home coverage with Thread support and various stability and security fixes. Additionally, the update resolves setup challenges that users of the Yale Smart Lock with Matter may have encountered. Many Nest Wifi Pro users hope this July build will also address ongoing slow internet issues reported for months.
It’s important to note that this new firmware is exclusively for the Nest Wifi Pro and does not apply to the standard Nest Wifi router. The last update for the latter was released in May 2025, focusing on stability and security enhancements. The July update for the Nest Wifi Pro is likely being deployed widely across devices.
Users can verify whether their routers have automatically updated by checking the Device settings in the Google Home app. This marks the first update of the year for Nest Wifi Pro, following the last public firmware release in December 2024. Although many speculate about a potential successor to the Nest Wifi Pro, there have been no recent leaks, with the last one dating back to November 2023.
