Experts Praise the Z Fold 7: The Ideal Slim, Lightweight, and Durable Foldable for Buyers in 2023

Foldable phones have faced significant challenges in achieving mainstream popularity, primarily due to their price and durability. However, Samsung’s recent Galaxy Unpacked event showcased remarkable advancements in these areas, particularly with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

With a complete redesign, Samsung demonstrated that substantial improvements can be made in a short time. One of the most notable changes is the phone’s impressive ergonomics.

When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures just 8.9mm at its thickest point, and only 4.2mm when opened, making it resemble a streamlined tablet. Samsung’s innovative design choices contributed to both size reduction and long-term durability.

Key enhancements include the upgraded Armor Flex Hinge, which features a unique “water droplet” design that increases resistance to impact while using slightly less material. The device also utilizes an improved multi-rail structural support system that evenly distributes the stress from regular usage, enhancing overall durability and precision.

The new Armor Aluminum frame boasts a 10% increase in strength and hardness compared to previous models. Additionally, advancements in bendable glass technology have resulted in a screen that lasts longer and is 50% thicker, addressing weaknesses found in earlier Galaxy Z Fold versions.

While the device offers impressive specifications, including a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a 200MP camera, some users may be disappointed by the absence of S Pen support, a feature that added functionality to past models. Nonetheless, the Z Fold 7 weighs only 215 grams, making it comparable to smaller smartphones despite its expansive 8-inch display.

The promising developments for future models, like the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 8, have many experts excited about what lies ahead.
