The Gmail app has introduced a new “Manage subscriptions” feature on Android, aimed at simplifying the management of email lists. This functionality has been observed across several versions of the Gmail app for Android, although it currently does not appear on iOS or the web interface, indicating that it is an Android-exclusive feature for the time being. This latest addition follows the introduction of a built-in unsubscribe button in early 2022, enhancing the user experience for managing email subscriptions.
According to reports, the new *Manage subscriptions* page provides users with a centralized location to handle all their mailing lists, eliminating the need to click the unsubscribe button in numerous individual emails. The *Manage subscriptions* feature is gradually appearing on Android devices; however, it is not universally available yet. Some users may find it missing from their app, suggesting that it’s a server-side update rather than tied to a specific app version.
Once accessible, this feature can be found in the side panel menu of the Gmail app, positioned below the Trash icon. It displays a comprehensive list of mailing lists, allowing users to unsubscribe with just a few taps, along with information on the number of messages received from each subscription recently. While the rollout’s extent remains unclear, and there’s no confirmation on when it might reach other platforms, this update is a promising change for those looking to manage their overflowing inboxes more effectively.
Users can check their side menu in the Gmail app to see if the *Manage subscriptions* option appears, which will be marked with a *New* label.
