Google Meet has recently expanded its “Take notes for me” feature to support seven additional languages for note summaries. This enhancement integrates Google Gemini into Meet, effectively automating the note-taking process during business meetings.
Continuous advancements in Google’s AI technology are expected to further improve workplace productivity. One of the most tedious tasks in the corporate world is taking meeting notes.
This monotonous activity can turn a half-hour meeting into a long and draining experience. As many companies increasingly rely on platforms like Zoom and Google Meet for remote meetings, artificial intelligence presents a promising solution to this challenge.
Fortunately, for organizations that utilize Google’s suite of tools, the integration of Gemini into Meet has significantly reduced the need for a dedicated note-taker. This allows meeting participants to focus fully on the discussions occurring.
Until now, the note-taking feature was available only for meetings conducted in English. However, this has changed with Google’s recent announcement on its Workspace Updates feed.
The “Take notes for me” functionality has now been rolled out for meetings conducted in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Users can easily switch between languages after activating the note-taking capability.
To choose a language for note-taking, participants can either select it when initially pressing “Take notes for me” or modify it from the settings page by navigating to Settings > Meeting Records > Language Spoken in the Meeting. While this multilingual capability is a significant step forward, Google has indicated that fully multilingual meetings are not yet available.
