Samsung has released a highly anticipated firmware update for the Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro after more than a year since the last one. This update is primarily focused on stability improvements and bug fixes rather than introducing any groundbreaking features.
Users can easily update their earbuds via the Galaxy Wearable app to enhance their listening experience. The past few quarters have been challenging for Samsung fans.
While the company continues to excel in hardware with impressive devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S25 Ultra, the innovations appear to be incremental rather than revolutionary. This raises concerns among users about whether Samsung’s well of innovation is dwindling.
On the software front, One UI 7 has received positive reviews; however, its sluggish rollout has left many feeling stagnant. There’s a sense of déjà vu as it feels reminiscent of a less exciting period in Samsung’s history.
This slow trend is now seemingly affecting the legacy wireless earbuds as well. The newly rolled-out firmware for the Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro marks a significant occasion, as it’s the first update since March 2024.
According to 9to5Google, the enhancements are focused on stability and bug fixes, maintaining a consistent changelog without any significant surprises. The firmware versions for the Buds are R150XXU0AYB1 for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and R177XXU0AYA1 for the standard Buds 2.
Samsung aims to provide a somewhat enhanced user experience and improved stability with these updates. To update the earbuds, users should navigate to the Earbuds Settings in the Galaxy Wearable app and select the Earbuds Software Update option.
It’s advisable to ensure that the earbuds are fully charged before starting the update process.
