OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 13T, a compact flagship smartphone, in China this month. This model aims to tackle battery life issues often faced by smaller devices. The OnePlus 13T features a new Glacier battery made from high-capacity silicon-carbon material. It is positioned to offer the “largest battery capacity and best battery life in history” for a compact phone, with estimates suggesting a capacity around 6,000mAh alongside 80W fast charging.
Despite its smaller size, the OnePlus 13T promises flagship-level performance, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and featuring a 6.3-inch display. This phone is tailored for users seeking powerful, compact devices without sacrificing battery endurance. Earlier this year, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 13, which was well received. The OnePlus 13 built on the success of the OnePlus 12, delivering a lighter and more durable design while increasing battery capacity to 6,000mAh from the previous 5,400mAh.
For those requiring a smaller option, the OnePlus 13R is available, offering a more affordable choice with fewer premium features. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13T has generated buzz since its initial leaks in February, with OnePlus recently confirming its upcoming release. Though the global availability remains uncertain, the success of the OnePlus 13 series indicates a strong interest that could lead to wider distribution. Little was known about the OnePlus 13T until Louis Lee, the President of OnePlus China, shared insights.
He emphasized the device’s focus on battery life, saying the company set out to create a “small and powerful new small screen” to resolve long-standing issues with smaller phones. Lee confirmed the new Glacier battery’s innovative composition and suggested that the OnePlus 13T will indeed deliver outstanding battery performance, potentially with a capacity near 6,200mAh and 80W fast charging, albeit 6,000mAh might be the more realistic figure. Combined with an efficient display and processor, the claims of top-tier battery life could materialize.
