Possible Dates for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Event After Delays

The Galaxy S25 trio was released earlier this year, and reaction among reviewers, myself included, has been somewhat mixed, largely due to concerns over Samsung’s perceived lack of innovation. Following its Galaxy Unpacked event, anticipation grew around a fourth model, the Galaxy S25 Edge, which many hoped would address these worries. However, it appears that the launch of this much-anticipated model has been delayed beyond its initially rumored launch window of April.

Reports from WinFuture shed light on the reasons behind this delay. The postponement has been partly attributed to the passing of former co-CEO Han Jong-hee, with mobile head Roh Tae-moon stepping in temporarily. Additionally, it seems that Samsung is “fine-tuning” the Galaxy S25 Edge, citing “technical reasons” that necessitate more testing before the device can be unveiled.

Interestingly, some speculation has arisen regarding whether the S25 Edge will ever make it to market, though additional rumors have provided a glimmer of hope. Leaker Max Jambor, writing for SamMobile, has indicated that the launch for the Galaxy S25 Edge has been moved to May 13th. This event is expected to be smaller than typical Unpacked showcases, potentially held as an online-only presentation without the usual press and physical attendees.

As of now, it remains unclear if the device will be available for purchase in May or if the public will need to wait longer. Pricing for the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to align with market expectations, at least outside the US. Leaked European pricing suggests that the entry-level 256GB model may retail for approximately €1,249.

This places it between the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, given recent tariff changes, predicting US pricing remains speculative until the official release. In the broader context of delays in the tech landscape, Google is also facing challenges with the Pixel 9a, which, despite being announced recently, has yet to open preorders but is slated for release on April 10th.

This time frame suggests that the Galaxy S25 Edge may not be far behind.
