Gmail’s Help Me Write feature enhances functionality with the addition of two new language supports.

Google’s AI writing companion in Gmail, known as Help Me Write, is designed to draft entire emails and offer writing enhancements. Recently, Google has expanded its language support for this feature to include Japanese and Korean, bringing the total to eight languages. Help Me Write is available exclusively for Google One AI Premium subscribers and can be found across various Google Workspace tiers, including Gemini Education and Enterprise add-ons. AI has become an integral part of our daily activities, especially in tools we use frequently like our email inbox.

Google first introduced Smart Reply in Gmail back in 2017, allowing users to quickly respond to messages with suggested replies. The company then enhanced this feature with Smart Compose, which provided writing suggestions while composing emails. The introduction of Help Me Write at Google I/O 2023 took it a step further, allowing users to have an AI-driven assistant for drafting and enhancing their emails. This tool is akin to using chatbots like ChatGPT or Copilot, leveraging Google Gemini technology to generate full email drafts or refine existing text.

Since its introduction, Google has persistently updated Help Me Write to improve its functionality and accessibility. In recent weeks, support for Italian, French, and German was added, and now with the latest update, Japanese and Korean language options have been included as well. Currently, Help Me Write supports the following eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. If you appreciate K-dramas, love anime, or just wish to communicate with your Japanese acquaintance, Help Me Write is now better equipped to assist you.

Initially available to a limited group during the Workspace Labs program, this feature is now exclusively for Google One AI Premium subscribers while also being accessible through different Google Workspace tiers.
