Samsung’s One UI 7 has introduced significant enhancements to the user interface of its mobile devices. However, the rollout of this update has been slow, with many devices not receiving it yet and some anticipated updates scheduled to extend into June.
In conjunction with this update, Samsung has launched a new personalization tool named Home Up. This tool allows users to customize their home screens more thoroughly, but currently, it is only available for devices that are running One UI 7.
This limitation means that only a select few devices can take advantage of Home Up’s features at this time. Previously, Samsung offered some customization options through its Good Lock application.
For users who enjoy experimenting with their device settings and interfaces, Good Lock has been the go-to solution. Now, with the Home Up plug-in, Samsung aims to elevate the customization experience even further.
Home Up offers users the ability to create intricate designs for their home screens using layers and stickers. This new feature is not merely a cosmetic enhancement.
Users can employ stickers to launch their favorite apps, adding an element of surprise for those in the know. Additionally, Home Up allows for a cleaner interface by providing the option to remove the persistent app dock from the home screen.
While most users are likely to appreciate these new features, the downside is the added complexity of navigating through another menu within Good Lock to customize settings. Perhaps in future updates, Samsung could streamline these features into a more cohesive standard menu system.
For now, Good Lock remains an effective avenue for achieving a less cluttered interface. If you’re eager to try out Home Up, ensure your device runs One UI 7.
Currently, this includes the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S25 series, all of which can access Home Up and the Good Lock module through the Galaxy Store.
