Garmin has recently rolled out updates for several of its smartwatch models, enhancing features such as sleep tracking. Among the updates, the ECG function has been reintroduced in beta for select devices, including the Fenix 7 series and Epix series. However, users are still facing a significant issue, as a critical bug causing boot loop problems has gone unaddressed in this latest version.
Despite the Fenix 7 being over three years old, Garmin continues to provide updates to its older models. The recent beta software update, designated version 21.06, aims to improve various features, particularly in the sleep analysis section and the breathing variation tracker. Although Garmin has pointed out these enhancements, they have not detailed specific changes made to the system.
While the ongoing efforts to issue beta updates are commendable, a significant concern remains unrectified. Since version 21.04, numerous users have reported experiencing boot loops when attempting to shut down their devices or while using specific features such as Coach workouts. The current iteration, 21.06, has only added to these frustrations, with users also reporting that Garmin Coach training plans are malfunctioning.
Garmin’s users are anxiously awaiting a stable update that can address these pressing issues. As of now, there are no clear indications of when a fix might be released. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the Tactix 7 and MARQ Aviator Gen 2 are not compatible with these public beta builds.
Overall, while the updates bring some improvements, the unresolved issues continue to impact user experience significantly.
